Keep your tyres clean

Stones, glass and metal fragments damage rubber and cause punctures. Here's why a clean tyre lasts longer.

Keep your tyres clean

Your tyres are the only part of the car touching the road, so keeping them in good condition matters. One of the easiest ways to do that is keeping them clean and free of debris.

Why it matters

  • Stones, glass and metal fragments can damage the rubber and lead to punctures.
  • Built-up grime shortens tyre life and hurts performance.
  • Clean tyres grip and handle better.

How to keep them clean

  • Check your tyres regularly and pick out anything lodged in the tread.
  • Wash with soap and water — skip harsh chemicals and solvents.
  • Check your pressures at the same time. It only takes a minute.
